FOR AUSTRALIA CLIENTS

Due to the current Measles outbreak in the Philippines, Panel Physicians will review Measles immunization of all clients as part of the Immigration Medical examination (IME) and strongly recommend vaccination when indicated.

During this time, the Immigration Health Branch of the the Department of Home Affairs requests all clients to submit their vaccination records especially for children below 10 years old and for 11 years old and above if available OR to know the specific date of last measles vaccination before coming in for your IME.

Effective July 1, 2018, NHSI Makati will be charging new medical exam fees for Australia and New Zealand visa applicants.

 

SPECIAL NOTE FOR WORKERS: Regarding the Visa-Related Medical Examination

You are here to undergo an embassy-required medical examination as part of your visa application. The examination and tests are done to ensure that no public health, public safety, or unreasonable demand is imposed on the host country.

THIS IS NOT a POEA-REQUIRED MEDICAL EXAMINATION

The VISA-RELATED MEDICAL EXAMINATION is different and not accepted by the POEA just as the POEA medical examination is not accepted by the embassy. The embassy's medical examination is done to protect its citizens. The POEA medical examination is done to protect the OFW.

Medical Examination

As per guidelines of INZ* and Dept. of Home Affairs, you will need to undress to your underwear.

Only external physical examination is conducted.

We offer chaperone to all applicants.

Abnormal urine test- repeat urinalysis is done immediately

The staff in charge will contact you if there are repeat or additional tests to be done.

Results will be forwarded electronically via e -Medical within three working days in most cases.

Once your case is submitted, MOC* in Australia or INZ* will review your case and advice if any further tests are required. They will notify the client via email.

 

Generally, your medical examination, urine test and x ray are completed within two-three hours.

*MOC- Medical officer of the Commonwealth

REMINDERS:

  1. Before coming for your medical examination, you must lodge your visa application, either with the
    Australian Embassy or via eVisa systems 
  2. Applicants are advised to take their meals prior to coming over for their
    medical examination since food is not allowed within the premises and all
    the initial blood and urine tests do not require fasting.
  3. FOR PREGNANT Applicants please bring OB_Gyne consent prior to xray.
  4. Females within the reproductive age group are advised not to schedule their medical
    examination during their menstrual period. Otherwise, they will be required to come
    back one week after the last day of their menstruation.
  5. Senior citizens, PWDs and children (18 years old and below) are allowed to be accompanied by one (1) adult companion only.
  6. Minors (18 years old and below) must be accompanied by their parents or any legal guardian who has thorough knowledge on the client's medical history.

NOTE:

Parents are strongly encouraged to consider immunizing their children against Hepatitis B, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), poliomyelitis, haemophilus influenzae type-b (Hib), pneumococcal and meningococcal infections, mumps, measles, rubella and varicella (chickenpox).

Rotavirus vaccination is encouraged in infants between two and eight months of age.

Rubella vaccinations are strongly encouraged for women of child-bearing age, unless they are pregnant.

Immigration Health Branch of the Department of Home Affairs strongly encourages clients, most especially children, to complete outstanding immunization before they travel to Australia. These will be required for school enrollment ad other settlement related purposes, including provision of family benefits.

Kindly bring the immunization records of your children during their Immigration medical examination for assessment.

- a Health Examinations List (HAP letter) (or equivalent documentation from the Department that shows which health examinations are required) and a copy of your passport photo page that has been certified by the department or an AVAC.

- a Health Examinations List (HAP letter) with a photograph attached together with stamp/seal from the Department.

- For Non migrating dependent PERMANENT applicants who does not have a passport or already submitted to Australian Embassy, You may present two (2) Government issued IDs such as:

a. BIR ID (Laminated with photo)

b. Voter's ID (Laminated with photo)

c. SSS ID

d. Postal ID

e. PRC ID

f. Unified Multi- purpose ID

 

- For children (Non migrating dependent PERMANENT applicants) - NSO Birth Certificate and at least one form of identification with photo

(Birth certificates issued by the Local Civil Registrar (LCR) in lieu of NSO Birth Certificates, are not acceptable.  For an applicant born in a country other than the Philippines, please bring the birth certificate issued by the government in the country of birth.)

D. Please bring all medical records if available

  • For applicants with history of Pulmonary TB treatment- Old Chest Xray films not less than 6 months prior to medical examination 
  • Medical certifcate regarding a previously treated or currently managed clinically significant illness which should contain the following information:
    • Duration and date of treatment
    • surgical procedure or medical intervention done
    • complete final diagnosis
    • outcome of treatment or treatment plans and prognosis

A. PERMANENT VISA APPLICANTS

Permanent visa applicants 2-10 years old are required to undertake either a Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) OR a TB Blood Test (Interferon Gamma Release Assay or IGRA)

Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) requires 2 clinic visits. Second visit is between 48 and 72 hours from TST placement.

To avoid TST from becoming invalidated, please be at the clinic at least an hour before the schedule written on your TST return slip.

 The TB Blood Test (Interferon Gamma Release Assay or IGRA) will only require 1 clinic visit if results are negative.

Chest X-ray will be required for children 10 years old and below if they have a positive TST/IGRA result or have exposure to TB Cases or a history of TB disease

B. TEMPORARY VISA APPLICANTS

INZ applicants are responsible for advising the Panel Clinic what Visa type and medical examination they require. Panel Clinics can only provide guidance as to what medical examinations are available, however the applicant is the person responsible for what medical they want to complete.
